This website includes a professional development workshop and research paper focused on the characteristics of ADHD in the classroom, and educational strategies that can be used to help students succeed.
My name is Micaela, and I am a senior Elementary and Early Childhood Education student at St. Bonaventure University. Welcome to my honors project! I was inspired to do this research based on my own experience as someone diagnosed with ADHD. I hope that this information about ADHD in the Classroom will help you as an educator or parent. Many children exhibit at least one of the characteristics of ADHD: hyperactivity, impulsivity, and distractibility. These strategies and resources may help you support those children in your classroom, or at home. For me, ADHD is not a disability, but a part of my personality. My hope is for you to better understand ADHD through access to this information, and learn to appreciate it for the gifts and challenges it brings each child who displays its characteristics. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me!
